15 Best Photoshoot Locations in Paris: A Photographer’s 2026 Guide
The best photoshoot locations in Paris are Trocadéro, Pont de Bir-Hakeim, the Louvre courtyards, Palais-Royal, Montmartre, Pont Alexandre III and the Tuileries Garden. Most are free to shoot in, look their best at sunrise, and sit close enough together that a single session can cover two or three of them.
I’m Sara, a photographer in Paris, and these are the locations I shoot at every week — with honest notes on crowds, light and which spot suits which kind of session.
The Icons
1. Trocadéro. The classic full Eiffel Tower view. At 6:30 am you have the terrace almost to yourself; by 9 am it’s a queue. Best for: couple photoshoots, pre-wedding sessions, proposals.
2. Pont de Bir-Hakeim. The two-level bridge with iron arches framing the tower. Cinematic, slightly moody, less crowded than Trocadéro. Best for: wedding and fashion photography.
3. Eiffel Tower gardens (Champ de Mars side). Softer, greener angles of the tower — ideal when you want the icon without the crowds.
4. The Louvre Pyramid courtyard. Grand and symmetrical. Shoot at sunrise or after 6 pm; midday is packed. The inner Cour Carrée is quieter at any hour.
5. Pont Alexandre III. Gilded statues, ornate lamps and Seine views — the most romantic bridge in Paris and a favorite for golden-hour couple sessions.
The Charmers
6. Montmartre back streets. Rue de l’Abreuvoir, the vines, La Maison Rose, café corners. Feels like a village film set. Go before 9 am.
7. Palais-Royal. The striped Colonnes de Buren and elegant garden arcades. Low crowds, beautiful soft light — my go-to for solo photoshoots and portraits.
8. Galerie Vivienne & the covered passages. Mosaic floors and glass roofs — Paris’s best rainy-day photoshoot backup.
9. Le Marais. Place des Vosges arcades, hidden courtyards and boutique streets for a candid, lifestyle mood.
10. Île Saint-Louis & the Seine banks. Quiet quays, bridges and that unhurried Parisian feeling — perfect for walking shots.
The Green & The Grand
11. Tuileries Garden. Statues, fountains, green chairs — effortless elegance between the Louvre and Concorde.
12. Jardin du Luxembourg. Relaxed and romantic; wonderful for family photoshoots (note: it opens ~7:30–8 am, so not a sunrise spot).
13. Petit Palais. The golden gates and interior garden colonnade — a free, grand backdrop most tourists walk past.
14. Opéra Garnier steps. Dramatic architecture for fashion and editorial sessions, best on Sunday mornings when traffic is light.
15. Rue de l’Université / Avenue de Camoëns. The famous “Eiffel Tower at the end of the street” frames — small spots, so arrive early.
How to combine them
A 2-hour session comfortably covers 2–3 nearby spots. My most-booked combinations:
| Route | Locations | Mood |
|---|---|---|
| Classic sunrise | Trocadéro → Bir-Hakeim → Champ de Mars | Iconic, romantic |
| Royal Paris | Louvre → Palais-Royal → Tuileries | Grand, elegant |
| Village morning | Montmartre streets → Sacré-Cœur views | Cozy, candid |

What is the best time for a photoshoot in Paris? Sunrise, in every season. Soft light, empty locations, and free access to spots that are impossible by mid-morning.
Which location is best for a proposal? Trocadéro at sunrise for the icon, Palais-Royal or Alexandre III if you want privacy with elegance.
